So, we are well into 2020 and hopefully you are not still wondering how you can better yourself. The month of January was a test for us all. It was more like a preparation type thing. You're getting over the holiday bustle. You are closing out the year and opening a new one. You're still wondering when can you have just a free hour to yourself.
2020 is the year of YOU. This is the year that you should start taking better care of yourself.
Here are 10 ways that you can better improve yourself.
1. Wake up early.
You can set your alarm either an hour or thirty minutes earlier than your normal time of waking up. This can be your quiet time to prepare yourself for the day. Meditation. Exercise. Write in your journal. Whatever you think will help you start your day off right, wake up early and do it. Only you set the tone of your day.
2. Exercise.
You don't have to have a gym membership to do any exercise. You can use the comfort of your house (pull up a youtube channel) or take a brisk walk in your community. You should get in at least thirty minutes a day. Sometimes exercising helps you get rid of the frustration you are dealing with.
3. Write in your journal.
Sometimes writing in a simple notebook can help you relieve a lot of stress. If you don't want to say what you are really feeling, then writing it down helps get rid of the ill feelings. It doesn't have to be a fancy journal. It can be a simple composition notebook from the dollar store.
4. Get rid of bad habits.
Saying that you are going to stop doing something but you find yourself going back to it, means you are not ready to change. If it's not good for you, get away from it. Nothing good comes out of any thing bad. As soon as you get the hang of getting rid of the bad habits, the better your life will be.
5. Spend more time resting.
This may sound simple but you're not doing it. It's okay to have open time slots on your schedule so you can relax and take it easy. You may feel a little lost because you are so used to doing something. But, if you have a few hours that you can spare, do it! Make those your resting hours. The last thing you need is to wear your body, physically and mentally, out.
6. Drink plenty of fluids.
Yes, you need water and natural juices. In can help your skin completion and it can keep you from getting dehydrated. Make sure the juice is 100% natural juice and doesn't have a lot of sugar in it.
7. Go where you feel comfortable and can enjoy.
You never want to put yourself in a place that you are uncomfortable and unease. If this happens, then you are pleasing others and not yourself. If you don't want to go to a certain place, you don't have to go. Your peace of mind is so much more important than what others think.
8. Positive behavior.
Nobody likes a "Debbie Downer", including you. So, try to always have a positive attitude/behavior about EVERYTHING. Even when your days are dark and gray, you still can be positive. Being positive makes you feel better on the inside and it will most definitely show up on the outside.
9. Step out of your comfort zone.
Doing the normal things will always give you the same result. If you keep giving the same, you're going to get the same. Do something bold. Do something new. Do something that you have always wanted to do. Do it for you. Make sure you it's something you want and not what others recommend.
10. Tell yourself you love you more.
We can quickly tell others that we love them but when was the last time you told yourself that you love you. I mean you do love yourself right? This is not the time to think about it. This is the time to start doing it. Look in the mirror and say it. Leave yourself love notes. The more you tell yourself the better you will become in taking care of yourself.
Who is going to take better care of you than you? Nobody! Stop putting it off and do it today.
