    How Mondays Inspire Me.

Now, it took me a long time to get to this point but it's a great revelation. I used to be that type of person that could not stand Mondays. I have worked in corporate America for most of my career life and Mondays use to be the DEVIL! I used to think people sit home on the weekends and make out a plan to make other people Mondays go bad. Then I caught myself doing it because I would think about my upcoming work week and I too started to think how I can make someone's Monday horrible.

But, I realized that it was not the way of life I should have to experience. Me or no one else. So I decided to turn something negative into something positive. I try to have a daily routine to stick with so my days and week can turn out being fulfilled and beneficial. So, I had to sit down and figure this thing out. Then it hit me Mondays start a new day and a new week. New adventures. New goal. New feeling. The key denominator here is NEW.

So here are some tips that I used to allow Mondays to inspire me.

    1) Don't over do it on Sundays.

Sundays should be a day of worship and rest. Well, I make it that day for me. I don't overload myself with more than three (3) worship services to do. I also have started prepping my Sunday meals on Saturdays so after church all I have to do is warm it up for the family and sit down to a great dinner. By 6 pm, if not before, I plan to be at home, relaxing and enjoying the day.

    2) Plan.

My planners help me out a lot and I encourage you to start planning. If you don't have a specific one, I would like to highly recommend the Happy Planner. I have several that I use for specific areas in my life (personal, household, faith, budget, recipes, personal development, etc). Plan out how your day and week is going to go. Yes, you can plan it out. If something comes up at the last minute that is not mandatory to do, then don't add it on your schedule. When you add to it at the last minute, it becomes a habit, and you will never get passed it.

    3) A Fresh Start.

Okay, technically it is a fresh start on a new Monday. It's the beginning of a new day that you have been blessed to see that you will never see again. Only you can control your energy that you experience for the day and future days.

    4) Start it off positive.

I like to have my own personal meditation time in the morning. It pretty much controls my mindset for the day. I have the 365 Daily Devotional book title A Little God Time for Women. I purchased this book from Ross. I also use the daily scripture reminder on Youversion (the Bible app) to give me an extra dose of the God for the day. Then once I am filled with the Word, I start listening to my podcast. It motivates me even the more.

    5) Speak positive to yourself.

Encourage yourself throughout the day. Speak positive affirmations over yourself and demand yourself to have a great day. Let notes in areas that you are commonly in throughout the day to show positive aspects.

    6) Keep a clean space near you.

Now, if you are like me, I don't like clutter nor a mess. Cleanliness is right and the only way. This goes for your car, home, office space, email, electronic devices, and people. Clean it and it should make you feel clean. :-)

    7) Treat yourself.

After your work day, treat yourself to something nice. Even if it's as small as a candy bar, do something that you will like. Also, write about it. Sometimes writing things down can also help you remember it and you will keep doing it.

Your Monday don't have to suck. It can be beneficial for you just like mine are, now.

I would love to hear about how Mondays work for you and not against you. Leave a comment and I'll be sure to respond back to you at my earliest convenience. :-)
