    Ways to Declutter Your Mind

I know during this time, we are all over the place and wondering when we are going to get back to our normal lives. Normal life for some of us means going to work every day, getting the children off to school, getting stuck in traffic, running errands, you know the lifestyle when you never sit down or take a break. Thinking about things as such are cluttering your mind and if you are like me, you slowly find yourself having a panic attack. Let's just say it is not a nice feeling.

During this time of being home, there are ways that you can declutter your mind and start to enjoy the moments that you are living in today. Yes, it sucks being stuck at home and not being able to do anything. But, you can turn that frown into a smile and make the best of it.

Let's get to the ways that you can declutter your mind.

    1) Meditation.

You can do this in so many ways. It doesn't have to be for a very long period of time. You can determine how long you want to do this. Meditation comes in many different ways. You can listen to music and drink your favorite drink and just take in the moment. You can take a break from every thing around you for about 5 minutes and breathe. You can read your Bible. You can journal. You can do yoga. Whatever it is, to help you meditate, do it.

    2) Clean around you.

This step goes a little further than just keeping a clean house. If you have a favorite area in your home that you are always in and it has clutter every where, then you need to clean it. When there is clutter, there is discomfort. And, you don't ever want to feel uncomfortable. Cleanliness makes every thing around you feel good.

    2) Escape it all.

Sometimes we fill our minds with so much, our bodies start to take a major hit. This also can go with step number 1. Get away from all of the negative energy. Get away from social media. Get away from the electronics. Free your mind. Easier said than done, especially during this stay at home time frame. No. We all find time and things to do when we want to. If you really want to free your mind and escape it all, you will find the time.

    4) Keep your to-do list small.

Raise your hands if you have ever completed your to-do list in the same day that you created it. Yeah, not many. Why are you overwhelming yourself with a long list? The longer the list, the more you will feel like your world is crashing in on you. Limit yourself to 5 key things for your to-do list. If you can't complete all 5 in one day, roll the remaining items to the next day but still keep it to 5. Remember, you are only one person.

    5) Relax.

Yes, relax. Stop trying to be Super Woman. That was a character. You are real life. Take the time to relax. It's okay if something doesn't get done that day. It's okay if you don't shower for the day. It's okay if you don't get on social media. It's okay. Relax. Breathe. Take a minute to yourself. Your mind soaks up a lot of things around you and sometimes we need to get all of that clutter out of our minds and just think about nothing. So go ahead and relax!

This list isn't long but it is something to think about and to do. We all need to declutter our minds during this time. You will feel so much better after you.

    Good luck!

    xoxo
